AMYQ publishes original articles and case reports in internal medicine, clinical specialties, and surgical disciplines. The journal welcomes clinically, academically, and scientifically relevant contributions that support the generation and dissemination of knowledge in health care.

Priority is given to manuscripts that are relevant to medical practice, methodologically sound, and educationally valuable for professionals, researchers, and members of the academic community engaged in the medical and surgical sciences.

AMYQ publica artículos originales y reportes de caso en medicina interna, especialidades clínicas y disciplinas quirúrgicas. Recibe contribuciones de interés clínico, académico y científico orientadas a la generación y difusión de conocimiento en salud.

La revista prioriza manuscritos con relevancia para la práctica médica, consistencia metodológica y valor formativo, dirigidos a profesionales, investigadores y miembros de la comunidad académica vinculados con las ciencias médicas y quirúrgicas.

AMYQ is supported by an editorial team and reviewer board committed to the continuous oversight of the journal’s processes and to maintaining high academic and scientific standards.

Its members are physicians with experience in research and in the publication of original articles and case reports across a range of medical fields, several of whom are recognized by RENACYT. Their work ensures a rigorous, responsible, and constructive assessment of every submission received by the journal.

AMYQ cuenta con un equipo editorial y un grupo de revisores comprometidos con el seguimiento continuo de los procesos de la revista y con el mantenimiento de estándares académicos y científicos de calidad.

Sus integrantes son médicos con experiencia en investigación y publicación de artículos originales y reportes de caso en diversos campos de la medicina, varios de ellos reconocidos en RENACYT. Su labor contribuye a una evaluación rigurosa, responsable y orientada al fortalecimiento de cada contribución sometida a la revista.

AMYQ accepts only original and unpublished manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission. The journal publishes two types of contributions only: Original Articles and Case Reports.

Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English and must be provided in editable format. All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they fall within the scope of the journal and comply with its formal, ethical, and methodological requirements. Manuscripts that meet these criteria proceed to peer review.

AMYQ recibe únicamente manuscritos originales e inéditos que no hayan sido publicados previamente ni se encuentren sometidos de manera simultánea a evaluación en otra revista. La revista acepta dos tipos de contribución: artículo original y reporte de caso.

Los manuscritos pueden presentarse en español o inglés y deben enviarse en formato editable. Todos los trabajos son sometidos a una evaluación editorial preliminar para verificar su adecuación al enfoque de la revista, el cumplimiento de los requisitos formales y la observancia de criterios éticos y metodológicos. Los manuscritos que superen esta etapa continúan a revisión por pares.

General manuscript requirements

• The first page must include: title in Spanish and English, short title, full names of all authors in the final order of authorship, institutional affiliation for each author with a maximum of two affiliations per author, professional title, specialty, highest academic degree, current email address, ORCID identifier, and corresponding author details.
• In addition, the manuscript must include, where applicable: abstract and keywords in Spanish and English, author contribution statement, funding statement, conflict of interest declaration, ethics statement, references, and tables and figures.

• La primera página debe incluir: título en español e inglés, título corto, nombres y apellidos de todos los autores en el orden definitivo de publicación, afiliación institucional de cada autor con un máximo de dos afiliaciones por autor, profesión, especialidad y mayor grado académico, correo electrónico vigente, identificador ORCID y datos del autor corresponsal.
• Además, el manuscrito debe incluir, según corresponda: resumen y palabras clave en español e inglés, declaración de contribuciones de autoría, fuente de financiamiento, declaración de conflictos de interés, consideraciones éticas, referencias bibliográficas y tablas y figuras.

AMYQ publishes only Original Articles and Case Reports. Original Articles should include title in Spanish and English, short title, structured abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions, author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, ethics statement, references, and tables or figures where applicable.

Case Reports should include title in Spanish and English, short title, abstract, keywords, introduction, case presentation, discussion, conclusions or clinical message, author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, patient consent where applicable, references, and tables or figures when needed.

Original Articles: structured abstract up to 250 words, 3 to 6 keywords, maximum 3,500 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures, up to 8 authors, maximum 40 references, and up to 6 tables/figures in total.

Case Reports: unstructured abstract up to 150 words, 3 to 5 keywords, maximum 2,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures, up to 6 authors, maximum 20 references, and up to 4 tables/figures in total.

AMYQ publica únicamente Artículos originales y Reportes de caso. Los artículos originales deben incluir título en español e inglés, título corto, resumen estructurado, palabras clave, introducción, materiales y métodos, resultados, discusión, conclusiones, contribuciones de autoría, financiamiento, conflictos de interés, consideraciones éticas, referencias y tablas o figuras cuando corresponda.

Publication ethics

Ética en publicación

AMYQ requires that all manuscripts comply with the principles of scientific integrity, originality, transparency, and editorial responsibility. The journal does not accept plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate data manipulation, honorary authorship, ghost authorship, or any other practice inconsistent with ethical scientific publishing.

For studies involving human participants, authors must indicate, where applicable, approval by an ethics committee and the obtaining of informed consent. For case reports, patient consent, or consent from a legal representative, must be documented whenever there is a possibility of identification. The journal reserves the right to request supporting documentation at any stage of the editorial process.

AMYQ exige que todos los manuscritos cumplan principios de integridad científica, originalidad, transparencia y responsabilidad editorial. No se aceptarán trabajos con plagio, publicación duplicada, manipulación indebida de datos, autoría honoraria, autoría fantasma ni cualquier otra práctica contraria a la ética científica.

En investigaciones con seres humanos, los autores deberán indicar, cuando corresponda, la aprobación de un comité de ética y la obtención del consentimiento informado. En reportes de caso, deberá constar el consentimiento del paciente o de su representante legal cuando exista riesgo de identificación. La revista podrá solicitar documentación de respaldo durante el proceso editorial.

Authorship, abstracts, references, tables and figures

Autoría, resumen, referencias, tablas y figuras

Authorship must reflect a genuine and verifiable academic contribution. All manuscripts must include an abstract and keywords in Spanish and English. References must follow Vancouver style and tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, cited in the text, and prepared in an editable format whenever possible.

La autoría debe corresponder a una contribución académica real y verificable. Todos los manuscritos deben incluir resumen y palabras clave en español e inglés. Las referencias deben seguir el estilo Vancouver y las tablas y figuras deben numerarse de forma consecutiva, citarse en el texto y prepararse en un formato editable siempre que sea posible.
